Code Jersey : BLUE AND GREEN

by Crusader | 3:14 AM in | comments (4)

ahem ahem!! Team India unveils its new jersey courtesy NIKE!!

Photobucket Photobucket

Boy!! "What a relief !!" I felt.I seriously got bored seeing them in the same old pale blue all these years! The new jersey has some aggression in it!

But to be frank, Looking at the Blue and Orange in the jersey, they looked like launching a new website for blogspot !! and whats with you SAHARA, I can see you more clearly than Indian font...ooops.
Nevertheless, Its worth a try! Its High time we needed a Jersey makeover.

SOme of my friends had other opinions about it! -->

"Dude we r Indians, not Sri Lankans!! "

"India means Sky Blue- this cant be TRUE!!! "

" This jersey is a JOKE!! "

while some had similar opinions like that of mine

Talking about Cricket Jerseys, right from the days Kerry packer introduced colored clothing in "World Series"

I consider the Kiwi jersey the coolest...but my current favorite is the Zimbabwean ( just love the "Z" on their T-shirt- as if they are superheroes)

KIWI Photobucket

Now coming to the real point, the jersey tendency is more towards BLUE and GREEN, cummon where are the others to be seen. I never understood why there is an over obsession for these two !

Now that Australia has shifted to green - YELLOW slot is vacant!!
Photobucket

Currently- Australia, South Africa,Pakistan,
Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kenya (ireland etc.) wear GREEN (though of different shades)

now isn't that too much of "GREENERY"

BLUEY CRICKEY
While, Srilanka, India,England (USA, Bermuda etc.) wear BLUE

So atleast 75-80% of the international teams wear BLUE and GREEN!!

Thanks to Kiwis (grey and black), West Indies (maroon) and Zimbabwe (Red) who saved some variety!! By the way, Orange looks reserved for the Holland side!

I hardly remember any team trying- Purple, Violet and Brown- ARE THEY JINXED?? (if yea...lemme know) and now even the Cream Retro Jersey is a vacant slot after the Kiwis gave it up!

I remember playing the EA sports CRICKET 04 game where the ALL STARS wore Purple!! It looked cool for the animation though!

But all I can say is enough BLUE and GREEN guys, Lets try some new colors- Allz Blue isnt Great and True....and Allz Green isn't Neat and Clean.

Guys do lemme know if you have some other colors in ur mind for the Jerseys!! CHEERS!

Oh yea..! I never took Friday the 13th seriously ! yup...not even when I watched the gory Jason's Friday the 13th. But it was just until I had to witness it spoiling my favorite sport Cricket this FRIDAY- 13th Feb 2009!

As always , I was super excited on 13th Friday 2009 as it was the day for Cricket's DOUBLE TreaT

1.) Aussies vs Kiwis -Chappell-Hadlee series decider
2.) The Caribbean 2nd test match- England vs Windies after England got bowled
out for 51 in their last outing

I always had a special intrest for Caribbean test cricket due to d atmosphere surrounding the crowd...the music...the beers...the cheers and ofcourse CRICKET!!

Anyways, the 1st game was Australia vs New Zealand !!......Most of my friends were hoping a Kiwis victory so that Aussies would lose a Oneday Series yet again at home...after losing to India and Proteas!!

If Australia wins it, they would retain the Chappell Hadlee series, and if Kiwis does it, they would not only win the CHappell-Hadlee, but also have made a mark on the international scene with their new young inexperienced but yet enthusiastic team led by
Danniel Vettori!

The Stage was all set for Aussie pacer Peter Siddle and Kiwi allrounder Brendon Diamanti's Debut. but ALas!! Friday the 13th just slashed the whip --> The Match was delayed due to heavy rain! Seriously I thought its the most pathetic way this series could be ending but little did I realise that it could me more pathetic than that...but GOOD NEWS!! the match was back on with a 22 overs per innings MATCH!! I thought WHoa..its almost a T20 game now!

Aussies scored a competent 168-4 in 22 overs courtesy :- Haddin's 88 and Ferguson's 55

Kiwis started the chase requiring 156 in 20 overs-with Martin Guptill's blitzkrieg knock, but were in deep trouble as no one gave good support to Guptill and were 73-6 when the debutant Brendon Diamanti walked in. Diamanti blasted off his debut in style, reducing the equation to 33 more runs in 36 balls with 4 wickets in hand..WHOA!!! a perfect final Onedayer I thought....Mr. Friday the XIII had other plans!!! Rain poured down yet again!! and Umpires decided no more play is possible as the Kiwis batsmen walked off the ground in disghust at their fate. Kiwis were at 123-6 in 14 at that stage!! AUSSIES RETAINED THE CHAPPELL- HADLEE !! now this is called "THE MOST PATHETIC ENDING".

Photobucket

now since u have read this far, you must be ready to read a CRAPOMETER FACT --> here I go-

"Aussies scored 168-4 and Kiwis 123-6....now let me add
all the numericals....1+6+8+4 + 1+2+3+6 = 31...well now if u think wats about
this silly no. 31....I would say Mr. 13 just showed off in the mirror as d
reverse replica- 31...well I know thats crap..but dats what I have been talking
all along"

NOW THAT WAS .....STRIKE 1 for the Friday!!
------------------------------------------------------
Though I was disappointed about the way the One Dayer went!! I was glad I had the Caribbean game to watch atleast!! THE 2nd TEST MATCH b/n WEST INDIES AND ENGLAND Sir Vivian Richards stadium in Antigua.

Windies chose to field and after 1.4 overs ,
Fidel Edwards flung the ball away in disgust, after failing three consecutive times to enter his delivery stride.

After a lengthy discussion, among both captains-
Chris Gayle and Andrew Strauss, and the onfield umpires, Daryl Harper and Tony Hill, the ICC match referee, Alan Hurst was left to make the difficult decision. The run-ups were hastily dug up straight after the close, but it was a futile gesture. The only option available to the authorities was an outright abandonment.

<
Sand Pit
now thats not a long jump track for God sakes !

AND ABANDONMENT it was!! due to the SAND PIT FARCE !!

now thats STRIKE 2 of Mr. 13......that was by far enough to spoil my day!!!

now if you are looking for the STRIKE 3, it came as an after effect to the FRIDAY the 13th event. An extra Test match was called On Sunday at Antigua Recreation Grounds, but it was devoid of referral system, as there wasn't adequate time for shifting of the equipment !!

STRIKE 3...OVER AND OUT !!!
